Soooo... I'm setting aside the Essentials of Programming Languages book. Reading forward through chapter two and some of chapter three it became clear that I would need to learn MUCH more about Scheme than I currently know just to understand the text.
I'm trying to have fun with this little project, and digging through unfamiliar language syntax is not terribly fun.
I wish I had spent more time with the book before starting this project and writing the first couple of posts, but hindsight, as they say, is 20/20.
There is another tutorial that I found online that looks to be much more accessible. Crafting Interpreters implements a little language in Java and then again in C. Both languages I have actually written in the past, so it should be much easier to understand the material.
